For RKW exploring mediums is nothing new but this project may come as a surprise. For several years RKW has been building a Green Roof Garden "Concept" atop his studio/residence and finally it is starting to take the intended form (and function). RKW views this project as a "mock-up" or "work in progress" where he is combining his years of gardening and landscape experience into a structure that functions as a residential garden. Sound easy? Not so much... One of the reasons this project has spanned years is the environmental studies necessary for optimum functionality. Find this interesting? RKW gives private tours and welcomes additional insight and other perspectives to make this research and development successful. To schedule a tour or for more information, E-mail RKW > View Images >
A version of RKW's "Creating Desire by Withholding" is included in a group exhibition at the Raandesk Gallery in New York City through July 3, 2009. The exhibit titled It's only Black & White features B/W artwork from 16 diverse artists. More about the exhibit > View artwork >
RKW is now represented by the Raandesk Gallery of Art based in New York City. Directed by Jessica L. Porter, Raandesk redefines the gallery experience by opening contemporary art collecting to a larger audience and by providing professional representation to new talent. Raandesk combines a virtual resource of contemporary artwork by emerging artists through http://www.raandeskgallery.com/, with ART@IGC, the gallery's regular exhibition venue and through temporary alternative site exhibitions and special events across the country.
For the month of January several of RKW's works of art can be found at the group show Art & Design @ Muleh. This exhibit showcases works from the DC artists represented by the Raandesk Gallery in a contemporary urban home like setting. More about the exhibit >
